We are excited about this year’s 6th annual “Looks What Local” April 17th through April 22nd. The event is designed to invite new customers into your businesses and encourage customers to spend their dollars locally! 2017’s LWL will be a weeklong event, starting on Monday, April 17th and culminating Saturday, April 22nd with the Business Fair held at our new Boys and Girls Club. This will give us a lot of room and great exposure for our wrap up event Saturday.
Customers/Entrants will be asked to visit your place of business or contact you over the course of the six days. They will have Monday through Saturday to pick up a “LWL Passport” at designated locations and get each block stamped by the participating businesses. The idea is to get customers into as many local businesses as possible to have their passport stamped in order to be eligible for the prize drawings at the Fair on Saturday. The passport will also include optional ads/coupons for your customers to help drive business to you.
Those without a storefront or traditional place of business can still participate in the “Passport” and are invited to set up a table on Saturday, April 22nd at the Boys & Girls Club, which will be open to the public from 10am to 2pm. Your contact information will also be included on your stamp block so customers have the opportunity to meet up with you throughout the week by appointment.
Completed passports will be eligible for prize drawings as in years past. The LWL Committee has the goal to be able to offer $1000 in prizes (based on participation), to make it a worthwhile event for your customers.
We believe this event format will allow more businesses to participate in this very successful event. In the past some business owners were reluctant or unable to get away from their business on Saturday to participate. We have solved that issue with the week-long event. It is also a very affordable way for your business to advertise directly to the community, and introduce who and where you are to customers!
The Event will be promoted the following ways:
- 8” x 11” signs for businesses to post.
- Flyers in grocery bags at IGA and other businesses.
- Granite Falls Chamber website.
- A Email blast to over 4000 IGA customers.
- On the electronic board at the entrance to town.
- Facebook postings via the Chamber and several venues in town.
What do you need to do to get started? Reserve your spot in the passport by completing the online application below or returning the signed advertising contract with your chosen participation level marked and payment enclosed to PO Box 28, Granite Falls, WA 98252, or drop off your completed contract at the IGA at Granite Falls, 115 N Granite Ave.
Email your logo and/or ad copy to Maria Hicks at Foster Press firstname.lastname@example.org for the passport. Space is limited, so we will be on a “first-to-pay-to-participate” basis. Deadline for advertising will be Wednesday, April 5th.
